Volcanion Coins

Volcanion has been featured on four different coins in the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG). While the image on Volcanion on the front of the coin has remained the same, the effects on the coins differ.

This large-sized plastic coin, which is considered "standard", measures xx in diameter, was first released on August 3, 2016 as part of the Gears of Fire Theme Deck of the Steam Siege Expansion Set. This coin is descibed as having a black back and red rainbow holofoil front. I currently have x of these coins in my collection.

Red Rainbow Holofoil Coin

This coin was released within later shipments of the Gears of Fire Theme Deck, starting October 5, 2016. It is the same as the first but the front is described as having a red cracked ice holofoil. The "cracked ice" effect is a shiny, glass-like crack pattern that reflects light differently from other holofoils. I currently have x of these coins in my collection.

Red Cracked Ice Holofoil Coin

This coin was also released in later shipments of the Gears of Fire Theme Deck. It is the same as the other two but the front is described as having a red pixel holofoil featuring a square texture. I currently have one of these coins in my collection.

The next Volcanion coin was not seen until 2020 with the release of Wave 5 Poke Ball Tins. This too is the same as the other three, except the front has an orange rainbow holofoil. This coin was also available in subsequent

My collection also features three custom painted coins.

Three Custom Painted Volcanion Coins

The origin of the following two coins are not known. These are not plastic coins, but rather heavy metal, and were likely only available in Japan.

I also have a two-inch diameter metal coin comprised of zinc-alloy with gold-colored finish. Volcanion is featured on one side, and Magearna on the other. This commemmorative coin was available during the release of the Volcanion movie in July 2016 in Japan. This coin is sealed.
